Self Treatment

Self-treatment: Self- care steps that may be helpful in some less- serious cases:

  • Rest the wrist and allow it to heal
  • Apply ice pack to reduce pain and inflammation
  • Use over the counter pain medication such as ibuprofen
  • Use a splint to prevent movements that worsen the condition


See a doctor if you notice:

  • The pain persists even after 2 weeks
  • Swelling
  • Disturbance in everyday activities


See a doctor immediately if you notice:

  • It is associated with a severe injury
  • Numbness and near loss of sensation
  • Deformity
